After two gruelling weeks on the road, Indigo Medical’s Dr David Bailey has completed his epic ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats.
Cycling more than 1,000 miles, David raised around £5,000 for The Royal Papworth Hospital—a cause close to his heart.

David Bailey is raising funds for Royal Papworth Hospital Charity as a heartfelt thank you to the hospital for saving his sister-in-law Nicola’s life.
In 2022, Nicola suffered heart failure and underwent a life-saving heart transplant at Royal Papworth Hospital. Before her transplant, she spent 144 days in intensive care, relying on a BiVAD heart pump to keep her alive. Throughout this time, David’s wife, Anna-Marie, cared for Nicola’s children while offering unwavering support to her sister.
Grateful for the exceptional care both Nicola and Anna-Marie received, David takes on a challenge each year to raise funds for the charity. His past efforts include long-distance swims across Lake Coniston. This June, he will take on his biggest challenge yet—cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats, covering nearly 1,000 miles to support the hospital that saved Nicola’s life. He also produces an annual fundraising calendar.

We were thrilled to sponsor such a fantastic event on Sunday morning, 4 August. BoxinBusiness's '3 Gyms, 1 Challenge' brought together 42 islanders to raise funds for Macmillan Jersey.
The challenge involved participants completing three consecutive 30-minute fitness sessions, each held at a different BoxinBusiness location in St Helier. With only 15 minutes to run between gyms, the event was a true test of endurance and community spirit.
"We are incredibly grateful to BoxinBusiness for their outstanding support," said Steph Gibaut, CEO of Macmillan Jersey. "The funds raised will go directly towards providing essential services, including emotional, practical, and wellbeing support for anyone affected by cancer here in Jersey. The community spirit demonstrated at this event is truly inspiring, and we cannot thank everyone involved enough."
Our sponsorship included t-shirts and bags for each participant, and it was incredible to witness the energy, enthusiasm, and dedication of everyone involved. The challenge successfully raised over £1,000 for Macmillan Jersey, a unique fundraiser inspired by the support provided to the founder's family.
The Government of Jersey is creating the next Mental Health Strategy for 2026-2030 for Jersey and as part of this, they’re wanting to engage with Islanders to understand their mental health needs and experience of using services recently.
They have launched a survey, which you can access here, and will be conducting a series of focus groups and interviews.
